Let’s focus on breathing


As simple as it sounds we often get it wrong, or maybe not wrong but we do not utilise this very important activity to benefit us as much as it truly can.

Using deep breathing techniques can lead to a lowered blood pressure and slower heart rate. Improvements in immunity and energy levels, strengthen abdominal muscles and training for the lungs.

But my focus during stress management awareness week is the benefits it has when helping to relieve stress and manage your physical and mental health.

It doesn’t have to be fancy and complicated. Just mindful and calm.

I use breathing techniques often in my classes and not just the yin stretch classes. It assists members to gain focus on themselves.

We all lead very busy lives and with that comes stress, so we need to learn the skills to manage stress levels before they take over and make us unwell.
